It’s Always Something

She seemed upbeat at first
Whip smart, snarky, highly opinionated and very sophisticated.
The kind of girl most men are frightened of,
but,
the kind of girl a guy like you really digs.
The real deal.
And then she hit him with it….
Her worries, her fears, her issues…
She had a meltdown
It wasn’t the puddle that she slipped in
It wasn’t the rain that ruined the silk dress
It was the credit card and mortgage debt
Consuming her…eating away at her…frazzling her nerves and making her quake in her Stella McCartney boots
The sex was great
she had a penchant for important chandeliers and public places
very uninhibited and highly intellectual
In the end, the honesty and the neuroticisms blew it
it was too close for comfort
the daddy drama
the abandonment issues
and yes, the credit card and mortgage debt
Clearly she was damaged goods
that no Park Avenue shrink could “cure”.
It’s always something….isn’t it?
