    For some reason I’m very saddened that they’re calling it quits after a lifetime together. Come on, 40 years? Hold out for the Gold! I suspect she already has a Plan B and that’ s why their e-mail announcement said “…very mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration. ” Good for themm, I guess.

    Maybe I’m just getting soft in my old age., maybe I’m sad because I’m looking forward to my own 30th anniversary celebration in October. After a weekend of too much togetherness I asked my husband to tell me again why we want to celebrate this milestone, and he matter of factly replied, “Because we’re STILL here.” Sounds good to me.

    The grass is rarely greener on the other side…even if you are an environmentalist. Not to say I haven’t considered astro turf and the likes, but we have made it to 30 years also…in spite of chapters of disconnect, dislike, discouraged…Now i wouldn’t trade him in for anything… “because we are still here and deeply blessed”.

    Couldn’t they have kept their separation quiet…I mean shit, isn’t there enough going on in the world? Very selfish!!!
