this one’s for MAdge

mother’s day is coming up sunday.
my mom passed away two years ago.
i will celebrate her, and probably – somewhere mid morning – a twinge wishing i could pick up the phone and call her; tell her that i love her, wish her a great lovely day and thank her for giving birth to me.

but that’s not going to happen.

and i miss her.

but… but…
but…

there has been a woman this past year who has been another kind of friend/momma: supportive, loving, generous beyond belief, tells it like it is without any bullshit what so ever (i believe that’s called unfiltered), calls when she thinks i’m in trouble, always always always reads my blog, always always always comments on my blog, throws a party for me when i’m in town, offers a room, a bed, a shoulder, a car … whatdya need?

she puts the MA in MAdge.
and i love her.
and i thank her.
and i wish her an incredible gorgeous mother’s day.

I love that I can wish for something and it comes true. You are tooooooo funny and wonderful and gracious and loving. I love you Amy Ferris. And you forgot to mention that I had the party for you and I had never met you. I just had a good feeling about you and Ken. I love your spirit and I love your blog. I look forward to it everyday. she is definitely somethin’ special….Happy Mother’s Day to all of us daughters who learned who we are…the good, the bad and the ugly…from our mothers. there will never be another love like that one.
